The Issue

In 2018, Asklepios BioPharmacuetical (AskBio), a leader in gene therapy research based in the Research Triangle Park, required immediate use of a high-quality plug & play laboratory facility in which to base its US Headquarters and research and development. In 2019, AskBio received additional investments totaling $235M which provided the necessary capital to accelerate its portfolio of technology, manufacturing, and research collaborations. Again, AskBio needed to quickly expand its operations and required more than double its current office, research and development space, and an additional manufacturing suite.


The Solution

In 2018, Davis Moore was able to facilitate the lease of 37,000 in BioPoint, a recently renovated class A laboratory facility in the heart of RTP to accommodate the R&D and office requirements. Renovations were completed while in occupancy which suited AskBio’s need for high-quality space while continuing operations with as little disruption as possible. In 2019 AskBio was able to grow its operations and more than double its current office, R&D and add the manufacturing suite. Davis Moore secured the extension of their current 37,000 SF while expanding to a total of over 85,000 SF across multiple floors of BioPoint.

Davis Moore negotiated an enhanced tenant improvement package and free rent, which allowed for substantial build-out into the high-quality R&D space necessary for gene therapy research.
