Case Study

Tom James Company

01.

The Issue

The Tom James Company is one of the world’s largest provider of bespoke clothing, dedicated to meeting their clients’ need for convenience and world-class service. The company’s office and showroom were located in Cary, NC, in a building also housing a very fast-growing gaming company. The gaming company’s explosive growth required the custom clothier to relocate to a new headquarters on a very tight timeline, without the option of temporary space.

The Solution

Our advisors moved fast to find the perfect space. The requirement was unique: a space with dual functionality to serve as both a corporate headquarters and showroom space befitting a bespoke fashion brand. We quickly identified two strong options but maintained an aggressive search and monitored the market throughout the negotiation process, later identifying a superior third location which was ultimately selected as the new space. To maintain the timeline and construction budget, we engaged the full project team, inspiring a simplified architecture plan while living up to the company’s high standards and attention to detail.

The Benefit

Tom James is now in an ideal space that serves their needs. The start-to-finish process was completed under a strict timeline for the site selection process and construction build-out. The company was able to sign a lease for their new space within four months and move in within seven months from the beginning of our engagement, minimizing the impact of their move on the overall business.
